Mission School for the Deaf
We are making a “real difference” in the lives of children, from Haiti & the Dominican Republic, that use to have no way, or hope, of escaping from a lonely & insolated world that they were forced to live in just because they were deaf.
Annual Summer Camp
We generally have over 170 impoverished children from Haiti and the Dominican Republic attend our summer camp each year. Volunteer teams of about 50 Americans and Dominicans share God’s special love & affection with each of them.
New Hope Children’s Refuge
Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. It has thousands of homeless children living on the streets each day fending for themselves. Poverty is a prison without walls. But, we have helped to free some of them.
English / Bible Classes
We teach English to hundreds of children and adults. By using the Bible as a basis for learning the language we are able to share the gospel. Instead of just learning a new language, we give them hope through knowing our Lord.
SUMMER CAMP WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!
Praise the Lord!
We had over 172 impoverished children from Haiti and the Dominican Republic attend our summer camp this year. This included some deaf children from both countries.
It was a big task considering we had to accommodate four languages (English, Spanish, Haitian Creole and Sign Language), three cultures (American, Dominican, Haitian) along with all the normal logistics of any camp.
The children enjoyed the days that they were fed 3 times each day, with snacks and drinks in-between.
The camp was an overwhelming time with love and affection from our American team of 27 adults, and our Dominican team of 24 adults.
