Our Mission

Touching Lives Worldwide, Inc. is a non-profit Christian organization where God uses people to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of others throughout the world. We are an approved 501(c)3 organization.

We are a compassion-driven team dedicated to serving God through serving others. We desire to demonstrate the great love of God and to give hope to hurting and needy people in all walks of life worldwide. Our heart is to share the grace and hope of Jesus Christ and to proclaim HIS salvation; and to honor God’s Great Commission to make disciples of all people and all nations. By the example of God’s love through our work, we hope and pray to make a real difference and change lives one by one.

  • Lyle J. Shipe

    Founder/CEO

    Lyle Shipe is the Founder and CEO of Touching Lives Worldwide. Lyle is driven by his creed:
    “I will pass through this life but once. If there is any kindness I can show, any good that I can do, any comfort that I can offer, let me do it now. For one day I will be gone and what will remain is the memory of what I did for others.”

  • Donald J. Shipe

    Executive Director of Operations

    Don has experienced living in the Dominican Republic for more than 11 years. As our Executive Director, he has tremendous responsibilities in overseeing our ministries in the D.R. as well as Haiti. He is respected and loved by all the children and adults that we help. He is extremely important to our organization’s success in touching the lives of hundreds of people.

    Here is a man that never quits serving our Lord on a daily basis. Tom has a BIG heart that everyone can readily see. He has been on numerous mission trips with our organization. Although being a professional Executive Chef, his talents far exceed that position. He truly is an excellent example of how one is to share their “time, talents, and treasures.” Everyone loves Tom whether locally or serving in Haiti or Dominican Republic.

    Gabe has been on many missionary trips in response to the Lord calling him to share the gospel in other countries. He first decided to join Touching Lives as Chairman of the Board out of his love for the Lord and desire to share with others the Love of God inside of him. Gabe has been serving Touching Lives since 2012 and looks forward to serving much longer.

  • Patrick Vanderham

    Board Member

    Patrick has graciously served on our Board since the first day that it was chartered. Although he has lots of responsibilities as a Senior Executive Vice President of a flourishing bank, he has continuously contributed his time and talents to make this organization flourish. His first mission trip was with us; and, he states “It was a life changing trip for me. Because of that trip, I clearly see the dire needs of others and appreciate how blessed we are as Americans.”

  • Brad Payne

    Board Member

    Brad Payne, and his son (Colby,) live in Frederick, Maryland, where he is actively involved in local missions including serving at local food distribution sites and serving on a committee for the organization known as Planting Hope. Brad has always had an obvious passion for serving others; and, he has shown that passion as he served in Haiti and the Dominican Republic with Touching Lives Worldwide. In his spare time, he loves reading with a hot cup of coffee in hand.

Our Beliefs

We believe in…

A God who loves, forgives, speaks, acts and a God who heals.

Our Statement of Faith

  • We believe there is only one living and true God, the creator of the heaven and the earth, eternally comprising of three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory.
  • We believe in the word of God and that it was fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and written through holy men called of God.
  • We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God; that His virgin birth was conceived of the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in His sinless life, His miracles and teachings, His atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven and His perpetual intercession for His people.
  • We believe that salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
  • We believe only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God, which is to serve him through serving others.

When telling the stories of Touching Lives Worldwide, I do not know where to begin. I have seen lives changed through medical care, spiritual development, and the meeting of physical needs. I am thankful for Touching Lives Worldwide. This organization changed my life, by allowing me to change the lives of young people living in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
