Through a chain of events, God led us down a path which took us to a place in Quanaminthe, Haiti where we discovered a Pastor trying his best to help a group of 23 children that was placed in his life and/or that he found on the streets.
God knew that these children needed help more than most desperate people because, at the time, they had not eaten for three days. They had very little clothes and practically no shoes. Their only source of purified water was when the United Nations water truck dropped by once a week to fill up their old water tank.
Many of the children had lice, or a fungus, or some other need for medical attention. Their housing, bedding, and toilet facility were unthinkable. Simply put, God knew about their needs as well as their cries for help; and, He wanted to answer their prayers through Touching Lives Worldwide.
Through us, God has provided many blessings for these struggling children including blessings of food, clothing, shoes, toys, better bedding, medical and dental care, a generator-type water pump, a garden, a chicken coop with chickens, and much more!
We constructed an addition on their small building in order to provide additional sleeping spaces for the boys as well as improved what space the girls already had. We have and we will continue to pay for a security guard and several assistants to help take care of these precious children.
Also, we have built new toilets and showers, one each for the boys and girls. But, unlike what we are use to, the toilets and showers do not have any running water because there is none. They function only through a container of water placed on the roof.
